Reading

The reading at Cafe Azteca went well,
and psyching up the Grey Courts went
even better. Pilar Quintana tells me
the anthology will be available near
January's end.
Some awesome characters there.

Mark Schorr (Director, Frost Foundation)
did a little trick the Beats used to do..
..we put our books in a free raffle, along
with Bob Muldoon's Hockey Comedy fiction
that's actually based on real experience
with the Hartford Whalers.
("Brass Bonanza Plays Again", with
Bob's wall-to-wall riot style)

The person
getting "Tahki" and "Nighthawks" was
thrilled. A relief...I worried someone
who thought "meh" would get them.

If you do a free-raffle, you need to
scissor up numbered tickets, two for each
serial number, one to the taker and
one for the pot. Here's a thing you
can cut, paste, print, and scissor:

There are sites that do raffle tickets for
you but they download stuff and gunk you up
with obligations or get your address.
So enjoy, no obligation. If you're a big-time
famer (like maybe Jessie? heh) you can ask and I'll
send you bigger quantity. Or if Pearl is
MC'ing a multi-way author reading... up in
the big city in the big woods.

heh, big city, lol. the whole nation seems like a pretty small village.

yeah. we might get a whole dozen out. if I count the host, performers and organizers, high chances. we'll see. I'm organizing 3 readings for the next 3 months. aka herding cats with a baguette.

been wondering about raffling. the provincial government if they know about raffles wants a game licence if any money changes hands.

people are mad about lotteries. say spend a dollar and you could win five, and people will shell out fifty. it would be a better way to fund readers than passing a hat.

Those generated numbes remind me of my old PC training in 1979.

'Herding Cats With A Baguette' Pearl sounds like a great title!

I totally agree with buying lotto or any raffle. Unless its a charity but then I will give them the money than clutter my pockets with dreams.

I'm on a writing roll....

Cool. IF you're on a roll,
get 'em put down and do repairs
later. Re-edits can fill the blank
hours with awesome upgrades.
